((I've been listening to the Gorillaz radio broadcasts off Icebergradio.com and have decided to do a song by song review as I listen. Here's Murdoc's hosting hour review. Up next is Noodle.))
Deanna’s review on Murdoc’s Hour of Mayhem with Icebergradio.com
Track 01: No clue what he said this was called, but I’m loving the guitar. Great stuff. Vocals I’m not so crazy bout, but who cares when you have that guitar and bass going like that?
Track 02: Black Sabbath. Mmm- yummy. Great pick on Muds’ part. More superb guitar/bass work, and vocals I can get more into- Ozzy. Not sure what to think bout Murdoc’s comment of doing Kelly in the backseat though…*laughs and shakes her head*
Track 03: Guns and Roses- Mr. Brownstone. Can’t complain one bit- Love this song, a perfect jam on all levels.
Track 04: QUEEN~!! w00t, (one for my friend Hazel here *die hard Queen fan*). Tie Your Mother Down. Again, I’m loving all guitar- Murdoc has a gods ear for that.
Track 05: Before I get into the song, Murdoc screaming “Adios Amigos!” was too funny! Gotta love British boys trying to speaking Spanish… Okay, AC/DC- Jailbreak. Nice tune- love the middle bit with the spotlight and bullet sound effects played on guitar.
Track 06: “Tom Soyer” XD Muds doesn’t seem to like it *plays it anyway*, but I kinda do. I’ve heard this one on The FOX quite a bit. Not as good as the other songs, mind you.
Track 07: *pouts* Muds didn’t talk at all before this one. Oh well, he gabs too much anyway. Don’t know this one…. maybe? I’m not sure. It sounds vaguely familiar. Not bad. Ah, It was Van Halen, that’s what this was.
Track 08: Kiss. *laughs* Of course Murdoc likes Gene Simon’s tongue. Okay song. NEXT!
Track 09: Again missed the title and band, but I know the guitar instantly- yet I still can’t think of the song. Murdoc, I think, would like my town’s local rock station. Actually, he should come host it sometime- they would love him! More bloody awesome guitar- I know, I sound lame for saying that over and over, but it’s true.
Track 10: I believe we’ve switched songs now XD. Nice sudden loud vocals in my ear. I’m gonna take a wild guess and say this one’s called “Too Fast for Love”? Sounds like something Murdoc would pick out. For a change, I’m digging the drums in this.
Track 11: Metallica –Whiplash. Oh yeah, Muds! Now we are talking. Love this fast paced crazy beat. And shit- that’s one fucking great guitar solo there! Superb.
Track 12: White Light- do do dodo do do do! There’s nothing I can say to this, cept if I ever heard this track on the radio I’d probably flip- mainly ’cause it is one of the last Gorillaz songs one would expect to hear on the radio XD.
Overall: Loved it. Not every song was perfect, but I’d tune into a station hosted by Murdoc regularly if I could. Great little piece of rock and roll Gorillaz treasure here. Go check it out, eh?
